Community Service Center

The Center activates voice mail

A new voice mail system is now in operation at the Center. News about Center activities, community events, sports, recreation, social groups, support groups, and HIV information is now available at all hours on the hotline. There are separate categories that can be accessed for women, men, persons of color, and youths.

Many calls to the hotline are for information only and a new voice mail system is much more responsive to these needs than an answering machine. Information is constantly being added and changed, but we're off and running, so give us a call at 781-6736!

More good news on the hotline!

Along with the voice mail, about twenty new hotline volunteers will be added after training on February 12th and 19th. This training is filled but there will be another on March 12th and 19th. The Center is considering expanding hotline hours and scheduling a man and woman together for as many shifts as possible.

There is now a Spanish speaking information line answered by a volunteer every Thursday from 6 until 10 pm. The line is specifically for people who speak only Spanish or have difficulty with English. The number is 522-0024.

Hotline activities are very busy and new changes are constantly being made. If you would like more information about the voice mail or volunteering, please call Jeannine at the Center (522-1999).
